    I understand that the performance hits comes from using Recoverable messages
    (rather than express, which has decent performance). Naturally, transaction
    messages add a bit more overhead to this (have to wait for the DTC to
    respond in addition to storing the msg on disk).

    I'll try to find a previous message to this group which gave sample timings
    for MSMQs.

    .. found it - 20000 messages per second for express, drops to 100 per second
    for transactional (for a multi threaded system - 5 per sec for single
    thread).

    I don't know what system he was using, but the relative performance figures
    are worth knowing.
