The default access permissions on all of the machines is the same but
changing
it achieves nothing.

It is not in the list on any of the machines. It may fix the problem however
(I can't
really tell now until Monday, I might get a chance before then, if so I'll
try this)

To be honest I hadn't tried that because with the same configuration in this
area on all machines I would expect the same results.

Not when running as the system account, that has only ever worked on PC1 but
I'd like to know why it works on that system at all !
