I have not encountered this problem. However, I know that in XP SP2
Microsoft disallows anonymous endpoint resolution.
You may try setting the following key on the server:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\RPC\RestrictRemoteClients =
dword 0
Or alternately set the following key on all the client machines:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\RPC\EnableAuthEpResolution =
dword 1
