Activex component misbehaving after conversion to vs.net

Hi there,
I have an activex component created in atl , recently during a application conversion exercise the project was converted to a solution, while doing so they converted cwnd reference to cwindow, now the component doesn't catched oncreate event, any idea why this is happening though there is a handler for the same.
