    which RFC are you looking at, NSSA is in RFC 1587 also see

    regarding your question, it depends on the configuration. in normal case
    you will generate summary as in case of any other area ( including Stub
    ) however you could configure on ABR to not advertise summary to NSSA or
    Stub in this case the area should rely on a default summary originated
    by ABR in order to guarantee Inter area routing. note that in both case
    default LSA would be type 3 ( see NSSA update draft for the reason of
    generating type 3 and not type 7 )
