Hi All,
This e-mail concerns GMPLS extensions to Traffic Engineering within OSPF as
specified in
- draft-ietf-ccamp-gmpls-routing-01.txt
and
- draft-ietf-ccamp-ospf-gmpls-extensions-01.txt
Section 6.4.6 of the gmpls-routing draft states
<-- SNIP -->
An interface that connects a link to an LSR may support not one, but
several Interface Switching Capabilities........ To
support this a Link State Advertisement may carry a list of Interface
Switching Capabilities Descriptors.
<-- SNIP -->
My question is: How should these multiple switching capabilities be
advertised? I can see two potential methods.
1. Include multiple copies of the Interface Switching Capability Descriptor
sub-TLV in the opaque LSA.
2. Have a single sub-TLV with the value field containing multiple
descriptor's information. The length field of the TLV can be used to
determine when the TLV finishes (and thus how many descriptors there are).
I can't find anywhere it specifies which of these methods to use so if
someone can tell me definitively how this should be done I would be very
grateful.
Regards
Oli
