Henning, do you see the same problem if you use a different _type_ of
reader?

Question from an IT-Consultant, please advice me if I'm posting this to
wrong discussion group.

Setting:
USB Cardman 2020 from omnikey
Windows XP Pro without SP1
Windows Server 2000 DC with default domain GPO added

Failure:
Starting Scardsvr reports failure code 5 and an eventID 104 in systemlog
is written. "can't get calais - key"

Diagnosting the cardman reports Resourge manager " OK and Running" But
no reader is shown.

Whats done: NR = No Resolve
Checked for wrong SCbase and lib. NR
Reinstalled SCARDSVR. NR
Tried upgrading the cardman 2020 XP drivers from Omikey. NR
I installed SP1. NR
Tried my friends cardman2020. NR
Installed Cardman on another XP. NR
Installed Cardman on Win98 SE. Cardman working fine. Reinstalled XP Pro
without SP1. NR Used several hours on browsing technet, newsgroups,
discussiongroups. NR

Reading some discussion about SCARD_E_NO_SERVICE replies from Eric
Perlin at microsoft, made it somewhat clearer.
