TIS tool-kit offers all the functionality that any firewall, commercial
one like Altavista would offer. I have used both of them. ie TIS tool-kit on
Linux and Altavista on WindowsNT4.0.
Installation of Altavista is easy and one could configure it according to one's
security policy within hours. The Tool-kit however has to be installed but the
accompanying readme's should suffice.
However I had one big problem with the Altavista firewall and that was
it's web proxy. After about 10 concurrent client sessions the web proxy
did not respond and after a while when the sesions reduced then the proxy did
respond. It was a great discomfort and ultimately we had to
abandon this product.
The Altavista Firewall is available now for both Windows NT (Intel
or Alpha), and Digital UNIX.
I suggest you download a free evaluation copy of this Firewall and run it.

Hope this helps.
