Dear Cool People,
Since firewalls are getting more sophisticated so does troubleshooting their
problems. Not configuration errors, but code errors. More specifically
core dumps.
It has come evident that understanding how the code was written becomes
necessary. As we all know source code for some firewalls ( i.e. fw1) is not
an option.
Using the debugging tools with FW-1 helps before it dumps but what about
after.
strings core |more shows me some interesting nfo but what to look for is
the question.
I would greatly appreciate any ideas or experiences debugging core files on
or offline. The more detailed the better.
Please disregard if you don't care.
Regards,
Keith Hayes
