Folks, Some info on SP4. 1. NTBugtraq discusses security exploits and security bugs, so issues about some driver or application not working with SP4 are not appropriate to NTBugtraq unless its security specific. Sorry, but this is, and has been, the charter of the list (see <http://ntbugtraq.ntadvice.com/ntbugfaq.asp>). 2. I am compiling a list of all of the sites which make MS Service Packs available. I hope to have this up on the NTBugtraq web site later this week. It should be noted that the only site that can distribute the 128-bit version is <http://mssecure.www.conxion.com/cgi-bin/ntitar.pl>. If you find SP4 anywhere else, its 40-bit (if its publicly accessible that is). Microsoft permits redistribution of Service Packs by anyone, providing they follow the guidelines in the file REDIST.TXT contained on the SP CD. Use at your own risk, but realize that anyone prepared to have that much of their bandwidth consumed is probably doing so with strictly good intentions. 3. The Security Configuration Editor is shipped with Service Pack 4, but appears to only be included on the SP CD and not available as a download. Should that change, I'll send a note to the list. Cheers, Russ - NTBugtraq moderator
