Hello!

Hmm ... I was talking about a "trick" but didn't mention what
one has to do ... sorry.

All right, let me talk about the pentium fix and explain.

You are sitting in front of your NT box with a NT 4.0 version of
your prefered language.
You obtain the _usa_ pentfix.exe file and store it in a directory.
(For educational purpose <g> we name the directory pent-fix.)
You expand the hotfix by "pentfix.exe /x" and open the hotfix.inf
file with an editor. Look at the bottom of the file for the
LangTypeValue=... line:

: [Strings]
:
: LangTypeValue=7
: ServicePackSourceFiles="Windows NT 4.0 Hotfix Source Files"
: HOTFIX_NUMBER="Q163852"
: COMMENT="Workaround for Pentium problem with invalid opcode."

I don't remember the original value, maybe it was "9"?
"7" is what you have to write instead the old number if you need
a "german" hotfix. You can use any other hotfix that's made for your
language to look into the hotfix.inf file and grab the right number
from there.

Well, the story is over. Close the editor, click on the hotfix.exe
file and it will happily install the usa hotfix files in your system
folders.

Regards, Marc
