An update;

Seems Mr. Scatliff was none too impressed with the mail he received, he
believes UUNet's lawyers are going to have a field day with my
actions...;-[...somehow I don't think so (just what was materially
omitted anyway??). I really don't think he read many of the fine letters
you folks wrote, he just seemed pissed off that so many of you were
concerned??

Never-the-less, as a result of this prodding, Mr. Scatliff told me to
pay the undisputed portion of my outstanding bill (that's the first time
anyone from UUNet has not said they would send me corrected invoices!).

I did that.

Their accounting people asked me to provide them with a list of the
items I was paying (apparently it would be too difficult for them to
match up the amount against items themselves).

I did that.

Since they've made no attempt to resolve the disputed amounts (despite
my numerous efforts to do so), and they now have substantially more
money than they seemed to ever expect to get from me, we'll have to wait
and see if the disconnect order gets pulled back from the techs. There's
still an outstanding balance as far as their seemingly mindless
accounting department is concerned...;-[

Anyway, thanks to those who did send a note. I would ask that you not
send Mr. Scatliff a message, his auto-responder is working quite well.

Cheers,
Russ
