Netscape Communicator 4.05, however, does not permit this exposure, it
gives the following error message:

JavaScript Error: illegal URL method 'file:'

and appears to be 'pre-fixed' for this exposure.. too bad Microsoft can't
do that..

This is a genuine exposure, but it's Javascript-related rather than being
IE-
or
NT-specific: I've duplicated it with Netscape Communicator 4.04 under
W95.
