It appears that the problems Peter Heath experienced with W2K SP2 and
MS Proxy might be related to the following KB article, at least that
is the assumption of an anonymous Microsoft poster.
Q249230 - SMTP and Other Services on Windows 2000 Do Not Bind to
Proxy
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q249/2/30.asp
I'd appreciate it if all those who have reported problems with SP2
check to see if this KB resolves your issues or not, then report
back.
Cheers,
Russ - NTBugtraq Editor
