I've been considerably overwhelmed with Spam since the Christmas break
and that led to a backlog of messages. I am now putting them through, if
you sent a message and don't see it in the next few hours, feel free to
contact me to see why it didn't go through.
Accept my apologies for so many messages in such a short period of time.
I would like to point out a special note for/regarding Michael Evanchik.
Mike originally posted information regarding the HTML Help ActiveX
control cross zone scripting back on December 24th. At that time, I was
unable to reproduce his findings. The vulnerability he announced then
was subsequently patched by Microsoft in MS05-001. My apologies for not
being more diligent in trying to reproduce the discovery.
Cheers,
Russ - NTBugtraq Editor

NTBugtraq Editor's Note:
Most viruses these days use spoofed email addresses. As such, using an Anti-Virus product which automatically notifies the perceived sender of a message it believes is infected may well cause more harm than good. Someone who did not actually send you a virus may receive the notification and scramble their support staff to find an infection which never existed in the first place. Suggest such notifications be disabled by whomever is responsible for your AV, or at least that the idea is considered.
