Hi
I've installed djbdns from source before, and never had any problems,
but now when I use a nice OpenBSD package I can't get it to work!
After a 'make install clean' in the portsdir, I do:
# dnscache-conf dnscache dnslog /dnscache
# ln -s /dnscache /service
# svstat /service/*
/service/dnscache: up (pid 7737) 14 seconds
/service/ftpd: up (pid 21610) 1838 seconds
/service/httpd: up (pid 18338) 1838 seconds
/service/qmail-send: up (pid 22852) 3819 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd: up (pid 2208) 3837 seconds
# nslookup 212.10.10.6 127.0.0.1
Server: localhost
Address: 127.0.0.1
*** localhost can't find 212.10.10.6: Server failed
And the dnscache log says:
2001-02-01 21:31:22.756043500 query 3 7f000001:0416:f999 12
1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa.
2001-02-01 21:31:22.760824500 stats 3 0 1 0
2001-02-01 21:31:22.762370500 sent 3 63
2001-02-01 21:31:22.768187500 query 4 7f000001:a043:9ed4 12
6.10.10.212.in-addr.arpa.
2001-02-01 21:31:22.769437500 sent 4 42
(piped through tai64nlocal, mind you)
There's nothing else strange about this, when I start dnscache the log
come with a 'starting' line, no errors or aything.
What have I done wrong, if anything?
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
I think this is OpenBSD package specific so I didn't take it to
dns
list.cr.yp.to with this.
