The size of /home is site dependent. I've seen hundreds of people
using < 20 megs and also one person using half a gig. It's probably best
to size it based on what your disk usage for /usr/home was under BSD.
As for whether a separate partition, is the size volatile or stable;
if volatile, get it out of /root.
