Did you install 2.8 or 2.9-beta? In 2.8, USB is disabled by default (for
good reasons which I will not explain here). To turn it on, do the
following as root:
# config -ef /bsd
ukc> enable uhci
ukc> enable ohci
ukc> quit
When you reboot the USB controller should now be recognized.
