I've been using several D-Link DFE-530TX+ cards with the _stock_ OpenBSD
2.8 CD for some time now. They're a little flaky if the infrastructure
around them is cheap, but otherwise they work just fine - Full duplex and
everything. The reason I got them in the first place was because they were
listed as supported on the Hardware platforms / i386 lists before 2.8 even
came out.
Unless there is a difference between the D-Link 530TX+ and the D-Link
DFE-530TX+ (each mentioned in the original two emails), then I'm a bit
confused as to what is supported.
If someone has the "definitive" source for hardware support in the 2.8
release? Or, if I'm just smoking something, could someone point me in the
proper direction?
These are the adaptors that I can see on the current list are (driver):
D-Link DFE530TX (vr)
D-Link DFE530TX+ (rl)
D-Link DFE538TX (rl)
D-Link DFE-550TX (ste)
Oh, and just for the record, I really don't like how companies make cards
with very similar names/numbers and different chipsets. It gets very
confusing trying to figure things out at times. Oh well, that's
marketing.
