Well thats the beauty of Unix. It's a toolbox and if there is any part
of it that is not doing its work properly it can be replaced.
On the other side is the need for standards, so everybody can have
their own system that is compatible with other systems.
Off course the discussion is about a very old tool that is very
difficult to remove. Not realy necesarry to do it all in one day. But
experimenting with an alternative can't be wrong. Just to see how it
works.
After a while off studying you can decide wether it is a good
alternative and put other programs in the new hier, or if it's not
such a good alternative and remove it.
Did you allready experiment with it?
