I think that the primary objection from most people who build distributions is
simply that if the he (DJB) does not agree with your way of doing things he can
and will stop you from distributing the code with your changes. This *is*
different from stopping redistribution of something markedly different under the
same name - i.e. brand protection.
Just because one person is on a crusade to change the world should not mean that
he can pretend to be on the 'side' of free software. Free in the BSD context is
'free to do whatever you want, just don't blame me or use my name in vain'.
djbdns is not free in that sense.
But no amount of arguing the toss here is going to get and djb software into the
OpenBSD ports tree, so lets leave it.
