    I've tried to enable the read ahead cache and write cache on my drive
    according to the atactl man page.

    here is the output

    joshua# atactl /dev/wd0c identify

    does it mean that the read look-ahead and write cache are enabled?? if
    so than why does it not say read look-ahead feature set and write cache
    feature set?
