One thing you're forgetting in this comparison is that the Netra is
NEBS certified, something difficult to find in the PC world. Now,
maybe that's not worth the price differential to most people, but in
some places it's a *requirement*.
Also, if you look at the environmental specs, you'll find that the
Netra (and most Sun machines) are more efficient than Intel boxes in
terms of heat output and power consumption. It adds up over 500
boxes.
More standardized hardware too... but this can be achieved to some
degree if you build your own PCs.
Not to mention generally higher build quality, although Sun seems to
have declined in recent years. Lots of plastic in the wrong places.
