well I never asked anyone about it before. I didn't think that it would
be a security issue since i'm not bypassing the proxy, just making use of
it for a different type of traffic.

You do realize that what you describe is very likely grounds for
termination? And that you could be setting yourself up for
civil and criminal prosecution? If you worked someplace that had
security guards that check bags to ensure nobody takes disks
(etc.) in or out of the building (Motorola has 'em at many of
their facilities, and I'm sure many other companies do, too),
would you be asking us how to spike the guard's coffee?

Talk to your network administrators. If they won't help you, for
example by punching a hole in the firewall for you, then you'd
have to be stupid to press ahead. You're not showing much in the
way of signs of intelligence by asking to do this behind their
backs, either. *I* sure won't be party to such insanity.

Having said that, you can get all the rope you need to hang
yourself with a bit of Googling. Google can also point you to
instructions on making Molotov cocktails, defrauding little old
retired ladies, and seducing young children.
