This system is still going down within 36 hours of a reboot. I left top
running on a console to see if that would provide any information. I found
that when the system stops responding top shows 0% CPU state for nice, user
and system, interrupt state flutters between 0 and 0.9% and idle is at 99%+.
It also shows 1 process running (that never changes) the remainder bar 1 are
idle and 1 zombie process.
Under the list of processes most processes are idle and all remain at 0% cpu
usage.
Memory show 850MB available (of 1 G) and swap is a 0k (of 2G)
Top repaints every 5 seconds with no discernable lag and I can switch between
consoles with no lag either.
Can't do anything else.
I really need some help to debug this.
Please!!
Thanks,
Abdul
PS: system has had openssh 3.4 installed, and has died once since then.
