The OpenBSD developers are following a program of planned
degredation. Each version is, in a very carefully planned manner,
much worse than the preceeding. It is expected that 3.2 will
nearly achieve the quality of Windows XP Pro. Plans for 3.4
include sub-NT4 performance in select areas.
Having said that, there's nothing worng with 3.0. So long as
you've applied the security (and other) patches, it works just as
well as the day it was released--which is to say, excellently.
If you're thinking about slapping a 3.1 kernel onto a 3.0 system,
first read this:
