this doesn't exactly pertain to openbsd, but i'm trying to get my sendmail
configuration right, and I think i'm hung up on my MX record misconfiguration.
I have a domain, the-bob.org. I have an openbsd 3.1 server with hostname of
cricket and domain of the-bob.org, so all together, it's
cricket.the-bob.org . What should the MX record be for the-bob.org ? If I
send mail to an account at the-bob.org, it errors out to the postmaster
with the following:
554 5.0.0 MX list for the-bob.org. points back to cricket.the-bob.org
554 5.3.5 Local configuration error
Right now, the MX record for the-bob.org is cricket.the-bob.org, with a
value of 10. I just deleted it to see what happens when there's no MX
record, but I thought you needed to have one for a domain that was going to
receive mail.
Thanks for the help.
