It sounds to me like your mail system is doing things Qmail style instead of
sendmail style. I'm not very familiar with postfix, so I don't know if this
is a configurable option or not.
I've been running stock sendmail (OpenBSD 3.0's included one) with the
imap-uw-2001 IMAP server included in the ports tree. Mine does INBOX just
fine, with no configuration on my end.
From your request, I'm not sure if you're implicating postfix or UW-Imap in
this, but I'd suggest building the imap-uw-2001 package and seeing if that
helps. If not, then I'd go through your postfix configs with a fine tooth
comb and see where it dumps it's mail.
