Ok, what I didn't want to do was to install the updated libraries on
the machine I'm using to build, etc .. but then I guess there's DESTDIR
to overcome that bit.
Ok, thanks .. I'm going to continue to play
My original point was more to flag that there were some compile issues
with what was I thought (but could be mistaken) approaching 'release'
code, and in case they hadn't been found, that someone might want to
tidy them up before doing a 'milestone' release.
Apologies if the observations are unnecessary, unwanted, etc.
It might be useful to expand the release(0) man page (or add additional
ones) on how to build tar balls, etc (or just have a web page
somewhere) where non-BSD hard core guys like myself can pick up and run
with info rather than having to try and learn it all from scratch again.
It's been a while since I played with OpenBSD, NetBSD, and FreeBSD ..
and they all have their own little idiosyncrasies which confuse the
hell out of me.
Cheers guys
