    hi,
    there is a 405 in the apache access log:

    200.30.203.160 - - [22/Jan/2003:02:36:20 +0100] "CONNECT 199.232.76.166:25
    HTTP/1.0" 405 303 "-" "-"

    So - is my suggestion right, if I'd be running an apache proxy with
    proxy_connect.c compiled in, and - e.g. have in the httpd.conf

    <Proxy *>
        Order deny,allow
        Allow from all
    </Proxy>

    the sender, 200.30.203.160, would have been able to connect to smtp at
    199.232.76.166 and deliver mail, if that mta is auth-misconfigured?
    or take a squid as accelerator on port 80...

    I do not want to try out - just some suggestions :-

    thanks
