That's a perfectly resonable solution, I agree. Thanks for that
answer.
Might there be a way to test whether a PDF reader is already
installed before installing xpdf automagically? I'm just
curious. As I already had both gv and acroread installed,
the installation of xpdf on my systems weren't neccesary and
actually wasted space (though not very much) rather than saved
space.
