<insert typical newbie introduction>
I have heard many good things about OpenBSD and was interested in
putting it on a new (to me) Ultra-10.
I retrieved the cd33.iso and burned it to disk. I couldn't boot to the
disk at first so I upgraded the Flash PROM to the latest available.
Afterwards I still couldn't boot to the disk so I got a new copy from
ftp.openbsd.org (making sure that i got sparc64 .iso) and burned
another copy. i went on to make two floppies as well from floppy33.fs.
No booting, no how. Here are the messages that I see:
<error_msg>
ok boot cdrom
Boot device: /pci
1f,0/pci
1,1/ide
3/cdrom
2,0:f File and args:
Can't read disk label.
Can't open disk label package
Can't open boot device
ok boot floppy bsd
Boot device: /pci
1f,0/pci
1,1/ebus
1/fdthree File and args: bsd
Bad magic number in disk label
Can't open disk label package
Can't open boot device
</error_msg>
I have verified the md5 checksums and run 'cmp /dev/fd0 floppy33.fs' on
the floppy. I'd like to note that i can boot the computer from the
Solaris 9 installation cd's with 'boot cdrom'. Anyone know what's
tripping me up? Thanks in advance
