It seems that the latest ORBit2 may have fixed a longstanding bug
preventing Gnome 2 from running properly on Macppc (and possibly Sparc*).

I have an updated port available here:
http://www.lectroid.net/ports/ORBit2.diff

It seems ito work on my -current macppc but I'd be interested to know if
it makes Gnome work on a macppc 3.5-stable setup.

The quick way to test is to build/install the new ORBit2 and then
x11/gnome/libbonobo and then run the "bonobo-activation-run-query" command
and see if it works. You should NOT get an error and a core dump :).
