i guess i spoke too soon. while clamd does not dump core, the process
dies unceremoniously after completing a few scans. amavis-new dropped
back to clamscan as a backup scanner.

freshclam and clamscan work flawlessly though.

all this is on OpenBSD 3.5-current (6/20) macppc.
