Problem with Adaptec 1210SA RAID / not supported

I purchased two Adaptec 1210SA controllers (new, from IronSystems), which is
supposed to be supported by OpenBSD-current. However, it does not, and I'm
starting to understand why not.
The card has two chips:
1. BIOS chip - M29W010B90N1
2. Serial ATA controller chip - Silicon Image SataLink Sil3112ACT144
There is no RAID controller chip, and unless the aac driver implements
software raid, I don't see how this card will work. Also, the aac driver
doesn't detect the card correctly. Maybe there are two versions of this
card out there, but in any case, here's the dmesg when booting from the
install cd for 3.5-current (I also tried the "B" floppy, same result):
