Somehow it seems wrong that patches to add comments to code should
come from someone other than the person who wrote the code.
But similarly, the entire vibe from yourself and others is that this
is "wasted effort" and hence not desired (patches > /dev/null.)
Anyway, I'm happy for yourself and others keep on digging your own
graves.
