The cvs command looks fine, and it looks like you're compiling a
GENERIC kernel. Assuming you are, I'm inclined to suspect faulty
hardware. I'd try memtest86 (or is it memtestx86? can't remember)
and/or try other resource intensive operations that should be
successful and see if they fail. As for the actual compiler error,
it's way out of my league, so take my suggestion with a grain of
salt. =)
