hi there,

i have problems with audio cd playback on my new toshiba notebook.
it is a dvd-ram drive. dmesg bellow.

here is a simple session using cdio:

when i say play, the disk spins up, but i can't hear anything.
first i thought it might be a sound card issue, but mp3's are fine,
and i turned off almost all of the .mute's in mixerctl.

notice that after issuing a status command in cdio, the playback
stops and the next status confirms that there is something fishy
with this drive.

any ideas? others having problems with dvd-ram drives?
