current status of G5 pledges; more than halfway there

From: Jonathan Walther (kroogerdebian.org)
Date: Wed Dec 01 2004 - 15:53:02 CST

To date, we have total cash commitments of $770. A private reseller has
offered to find the best possible deal on a used dual G5, which could
potentially cut $400 off the cost.

Assuming the best, we still need to raise $830. Would anyone care to
contact the folks at undeadly and see if they will post this? Perhaps
we'll reach a broader audience of potential donors that way.

Five people made their commitmens in public, five in private. I have
assumed that those who sent me their pledges directly wanted to remain
anonymous; so far the public donors are:

Stephen Colson
Sam Hart
Raymond Lai
Gaby Vanhegan
Jonathan Walther

$830 is less than half the amount we originally set out to raise; that
means we are more than halfway to our goal. If anyone wants to see
64-bit Macintosh G5 SMP support, don't be shy. If you can't donate
code, this is the best possible way you can contribute and make your
gratitude felt; make a pledge today.

Once enough pledges are in, I will send out an email to that effect so
people can send in their $$.

For those who asked, Paypal is fine; when the time comes you will be
able to pay using the paypal id "paypalopenbsd.org".

You will be able to send cheques or money orders with the following
information:

OpenBSD
812 23rd Ave SE
Calgary, Alberta
Canada
T2G 1N8

Make cheques and money orders out to "Theo de Raadt", since he cannot
cash cheques made out to "OpenBSD".
