sorry about the obvious question...

is there a reason why the pages use gif pictures instead of png?

i don't want to start a holy war, the reasons are actually
quite pragmatic: file size, patent, color depth to name some.

(just saving the openbsd logo in png shaves off ~17KB...)

also i noticed that that the openbsd logo has a white border...
white border in a picture which is on white background?...

if agreed, it is tedious and boring work so i would gladly
send the png versions of the pictures along with the diffs
for the pages....
