Hi,

did you ever calculate how many tapes you will need? And what kind of
tapechanger? If you use LTO this means about 50 tapes for a single
fullbackup. And if you take the fastest streamer with about 80MBytes/sec
you will still need 33 hours. And best equipment to get this datarate
consistently. And I don't think that tar will be the software of choice.

But I think you have known this already.
