Which seems to be a similar same symptom (freeze on FTP transfers), but
it is a rather old entry and refers to turning of IPF... Well, I do not
have PF running, just in case anyone is wondering.
Also, the system seems to freeze at random stages during network
traffic, but I can *always* make it fail *instantly* by initiating a FTP
transfer (just a FTP connection and browsing directories doesn't do it).
During a test, it also died when I tried to grab etc36.tgz from the
secsup mirror at "Read 354 of 1655 KiB of data, 17 KiB/sec." That was
after I started lynx and browsed to that particular HTTP mirror. It was
the first (and only) file I tried to download.

The card seems to work fine in another system, and the Compaq worked
fine before the card went in. So I probably have a h/w incompatibility,
but I thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestion to get this working.

There is no debug prompt when the system freezes, btw. It simply stops
responding to keyboard input and network traffic.
