jabber-jud

Hi All,

I'm trying to install the Jabber User Directory onto an OpenBSD 3.6
machine. I have installed jabberd from the ports directory but
jabber-jud is not in the ports directory.

I downloaded the version from jabber.org and attempted to install it.

Here is the route i took:

# tar xvzf jud-0.5.tar.gz
jud-ansi-c
jud-ansi-c/Makefile
jud-ansi-c/README
jud-ansi-c/jud.h
jud-ansi-c/jud.c
jud-ansi-c/jud_reg.c
jud-ansi-c/jud_search.c
jud-ansi-c/ChangeLog
# cd jud-ansi-c
# make
"Makefile", line 1: Could not find ../platform-settings
"Makefile", line 10: Missing dependency operator
"Makefile", line 12: Need an operator
"Makefile", line 14: Need an operator
"Makefile", line 21: Missing dependency operator
"Makefile", line 23: Need an operator
"Makefile", line 25: Need an operator
Fatal errors encountered -- cannot continue

When i try to locate "platform-settings" after updating the locate
database just in case i was installing it to the wrong directory; it's
no-where to be found on the machine.

Similar errors happen when i try to install other jabber related
applications such as WebClientService etc.

I cannot find any official OpenBSD versions of JUD. This version is for
1.4 according to the README although it produces the same error when i
install jabberd 1.4 from a tar file.

So my questions are as follows:

1. Has anyone else installed Jabber Server on OpenBSD 3.6 and gotten an
outside version of JUD to work with it
2. How did you do it and what version did you use?:-)

Thanks for your time.

Regards,

Ken
