This doesn't sound like an openbsd problem. Probably you should start
with your vendor, or the manufacturer. Doing a web search for your
make and model of router may yield results. If all else fails, if your
router came with documentation or software there's a small chance that
might be worth perusing. If these don't work, you might want to return
it and select one from a reputable maker. Requiring that you visit a
for-pay site to make your new purchase work sounds like a highly
questionable business practice. There are plenty of other products
that do not have this problem.
I find myself wondering if you've purchased a windows-only product, or
if you were expecting somebody in the openbsd community might know how
to get around whatever your problem is. Regardless - without knowing
the make or model of device you have there's no chance you'll get a
useful answer here.
I remember "the source" when they were competing against compuserve.
