Okay, that's clear then. You DON'T install snapshot packages on your
brand new 4.0 installation.

IMHO, you need to be comfy with 4.0 release and 4.0 packages before
attempting to do anything which involves -current or snapshots. Go read
the FAQ again. ;-)

You'll have to learn to walk before you can run.

Also, there is a nice and friendly newbies list, which you might like to
join.
