I don't care about it. If at some point we have a working acpi/apm
subsystem for everyone, i'd plug the corresponding command calls behing
those buttons. In the meantime, if you click on it, it says that HAL is
needed for this functionality. Which is true.

I may consider patching the corresponding xfconf systemwide file to make
it default to not showing them.

Yeah, some were updated to use GtkSocket, other still call their own
window. Which ones, i don't remember.

Yes. Reported upstream, fixed in svn (i.e if randr is not enabled in X,
the dialog won't show at all), as said in my previous mail.

gstreamer-plugins-good should be enough. Is your hw supported by
gstreamer ? Do you have the sndio-enabled version ? (things changed in
this area recently, ajacoutot should know about it, and iirc he told me
something like that was fixed recently. or another issue.)
