Hi,
after I already stumbled about some other, probably related, issues in
sysjail (fixed) and dovecot (reported but not yes fixed) I might have
found a similar issue with arpwatch, related to the Berkeley-DB.
Arpwatch itself seems to be working fine, I get emails for new stations,
and only once, but the arp.dat always stays size 0. After restarting
arpwatch I get all new station mails again.
The issue with sparc64 and Berkeley-DB in general is described here:
http://www.netbsd.org/cgi-bin/query-pr-single.pl?number=4480
http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/am_misc/align.html
Sadly I am not good enough at C to be able to fix this myself.
It seems that libdb is producing misaligned values.
I reproduced it on two different sparc64 machines, one with OpenBSD 4.3
and one with 4.4-beta snapshot from 06/22/08, same behaviour.
Would be nice if someone could confirm and maybe help fixing this. :-)
There might also be more apps in the ports tree that are not working as
intended on sparc64...
Michael
