Do you have the nss_ldap module also installed? If not, then your system
has no idea how to translate tst to a uid number, irregardless of what PAM
thinks it knows. Try this (as root):

# touch /tmp/some-file
# chown tst /tmp/some-file

If the that does not work, then your problem does not lie in PAM.
