sendmail/qpopper with pam

How can I use PAM (pam_userdb.so) with sendmail and qpopper
to allow only users in database to send/receive mail?
I have a small db with user-password pair which works with
pam_userdb.so but I dont know how to link it with sendmail/qpopper.
