dial-up machine at home:
how to rewrite how to rewrite mynamemymachine to how to rewrite mynamemymachine to officialnameofficialdomain ?
 - virtual only affects recipient ? doesn´t help with sender.
 - setting myorigin doesn´t affect the username
 - cannonical doesn´t affect routing (e.g. undelivery reports)
 - masquerading is also for hostnames/domains, not usernames

(our local university has strange user names like uxxx or urcr. people
 use more readable usernames at home, like henning or aj. so we need
 to rewrite usernames or use the cryptic usernames at home, too.).
